What to Avoid at Dollar Stores
Most food and groceries are a ripoff at Dollar Stores.
Avoid the rice and beans as they are the worst quality and taste you can get.
The TJ Farms frozen vegetables are also the absolute worst quality frozen veggies you can get on the market, but at least they are edible.

Avoid anything that is priced over $1.25, as you can easily find better quality items for the same price at Aldi and Walmart when the item is priced over $1.25.
What to Actually Buy At Dollar Stores
Party supplies are definitely a decent value at most Dollar Stores, especially compared to what Party City was charging before they shut down.

Greeting cards are also a great deal, with many cards being 2 for $1.

Some of the boxed name-brand candies are decent enough to pick up and take with you to the Movie Theater.
