Avoid Fast-Furniture

Avoid most furniture from Wayfair or Ikea.

In the world of "fast furniture," no one wins.  Unless you're moving from rental to rental, then perhaps you can entertain buying furniture from Wayfair, Amazon, and Ikea, but let buyer beware.  You are getting what you pay for and then some.

The Youtube Channel More Perfect Union created a great video investigation into just how poorly constructed furniture is today.

You can view the video here.

The Vaush Pit recorded a great reaction to More Perfect Union's video that you can find here.

Where to Get Furniture

You need to get your furniture second-hand from places like Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, or OfferUp.

Most people aren't looking for used furniture at any given time, so you have that to your advantage to haggle, especially if you can promise to meet asap.

I would also recommend thrift stores as well, with the Salvation Army being my most recommended of the bunch.  I do not recommend Goodwill as they are an absolute ripoff.

You would not believe how many quality items you can find for cheap simply because people cannot take their furniture with them, and that they want that large eyesore out of their lives as soon as possible.

Estate Sales and Garage sales, while not common, can also present a tremendous opportunity to get quality furniture for cheap.

Let me also take the opportunity to say RIP to Big Lots, as they carried some decent enough furniture for the price.
